I'm getting to a point where either I don't really feel pain or I don't really know what it is.
I love it. |

I always complain that people only use LJ when they have something negative to write about, and that no one writes about life when life is good. I guess at the moment I fall into that category, so this post will fix that.

Kill to Win made a few resolutions at the beginning of the year, and it appears that they will all be completed within the next month or so. But there are obstacles and bumps in the road, unfortunately. Let me tell you.
Obstacles and bumps in the road suck.
But we're still hitting those checkpoints. Here's one of them:

[Dec. 31st, 2007|06:19 pm] |
So apparently if I take the last sentence of the first post of every month this year it will sum up the year to come. Here goes:
Hilarity ensues. Arrest yourself. Alright idiot, whatever you say. I've become nocturnal. Don't waste your time and energy on the people who have no interest in being your friend. Things are looking good. Fuck mashed potatoes. Life is intense. I think I'm doomed to be a virgin for the rest of my years. Everybody smiles at you. I can feel it. Most people fail to do what they resolve to do every single year.
That whole paragraph sounds weird as shit. I'm not writing resolutions until tomorrow. Happy new year. |

Take the first sentence of the first post of each month of 2007 and put them together. You may skip memes/quizzes if you so desire. BAM You’ve summed up your year.
No one ever said it would be this hard. I'm really liking the direction my life is headed right now. I've run out of other options. I work a night job. I'm a good person, but definitely not a great person. At Panda Express I ate my fortune cookie and I got this as my fortune: Success comes in cans. NO MORE FEDORAS. Life is intense. So last night I decided that French House/Electro was my new religion. Am I built for this? Listen to me. |

| | plus my bike's illegal so they send for the law | ] | Before I figure out what I resolve to do this year I need to take a look at what I resolved to do last year and whether or not I succeeded:
1. Be more aware of your surroundings: C
2. Accomplish More: A+
3. Make use of all of your time: C+
4. Organize Your Schedule: A
5. Organize Your Mind: C
6. Save and Spend Wisely: D-
7. Be Healthy: F
8. Don't be so stubborn: B
9. Explore your own taste: A+
10. Continue being a good student: C+
11. Don't be such a pussy: B+
12. Find Someone: D
My final resolution last year was to follow through with my resolutions, which would be my grade over all. I did some shitty math and found that my Resolution GPA is something like a 2.25, which is a C, which means I was an average success.
I'm proud of that. Most people fail to do what they resolve to do every single year. |

| | Timbaland and Magoo - Luv 2 Luv U | ] | So this was a little over a week ago:

It was Tatame's busiest Monday ever. The party was rockin' so hard the cops actually showed up. They asked us back on December 17.
Nearly a year since first putting my hands on Ableton Live, 10 months after the conception of Kill to Win, and 5 months since I first tried to teach myself how to DJ, I can say this.
I'm doing a hell of a good job.
I feel as if Orlando has already begun too see way too much of me, and if there's anyone out there who has a problem with that I can only say sorry. Because this shit is only getting bigger and bigger.
Also, I won't say too much about the future of K2W except that we've been offered something slightly bigger than another night a Tatame. I'm not going to risk jinxing it by actually stating exactly whats up. |

| | Because You're Mine! | ] |
So 2007 is looking like one of the finest years of my life, and September 2007 is starting to feel like one of the finest moments in my history. And the best thing about it?
I know that things can only get better.
Let's be specific: Music rules me.
Today I finally got the chance to spin on both of our decks for the first time. For months we had one while I was saving money to buy the second, then when I was finally able to buy number 2, the first one had to be sent in on its warranty for repairs. But today I was finally able to fully reap the benefits of having perfectly emulated vinyl feel using CDs. I hate spinning on CD decks because those damn buttons never work right. Vinyl is where it's at, and while I was spinning in front of Tin-Tin I came to this realization:
I am really good at this.
Secondly,
Kill to Win's new track is up, and it's honestly the best piece of art I've ever created. New Spells sounds perfect to me, and it sounds damn good to most anyone else who hears it, and it makes me happy that I was the creator of something so moving.
And this one is going to get us somewhere.
Today Kill to Win got it's first blog post. The blogger is a former Orlandoian who now resides in LA. Granted, I met him a few times, and I'm friends with his girlfriend, and his blog is new, I'm still on a blog. My shit wouldn't be on there it weren't good.
Speaking of good, Life is good. My next post is just going to be a bunch of pics of my equipment. That should bore everyone pretty well. |
